Every day as I try to stay calm with all the terrible news swirling around me, I have to keep going back to God and praying for his strength to do it. As I listen to all the lies and propaganda, I’m afraid my calm doesn’t last very long. God is so good in providing me with many reassurances that He is in charge, but I keep relapsing into fear and anger as I listen to and read the news. This morning I felt His help like a wave flowing over me so I had to put some of it down.
First, I try to imagine how the people who voted for Obama twice are feeling now. I have found when questioning those people that they keep trying to attribute his actions to something good—they listen to and believe his constant rhetoric (deception) and hope it will be true. They simply cannot accept they were wrong in voting for him TWICE.
When I read The ONE YEAR Bible this morning, I kept thinking about what is going on in our world today. The daily reading from the Old Testament was on Exodus 10:1–12:13 which tells about Moses trying to convince Pharaoh to let all the Hebrews go. Pharaoh felt he was all powerful and didn’t believe in the Hebrew God. Pharaoh hardened his heart and felt he didn’t have to change his course—he kept lying to Moses and Aaron to get them to stop all the plagues. I was reminded of all that Obama has done and continues to do in direct defiance of God. At times he acts like a spoiled child, just as Pharaoh did, when anyone dares to go against his edicts! Throughout his years as president, Obama had shown total disrespect for our greatest ally Israel and now is continuing his temper tantrum at Benjamin Netanyahu’s plan to talk to our Congress. Obviously, like Pharaoh, Obama doesn’t believe Israel is God’s chosen country and people. "For you are a holy people to the LORD your God, and the LORD has chosen you to be a people for His own possession out of all the peoples who are on the face of the earth.” (Deuteronomy 14:2). Obama feels he is all powerful and his edicts should not be questioned by anyone.
The daily reading from the New Testament was on Matthew 20:1-28 where Jesus uses a parable to explain what the kingdom of heaven is like. He uses the parable of the landowner who went out early in the morning to hire men to work in his vineyard. He agreed to pay them a denarius for the day and sent them into his vineyard. The landowner goes out two more times during the day to hire more workers and when it became time to pay the workers, he paid everyone the agreed upon wage—a denarius. Those who worked from early in the morning complained as they expected to be paid more for working more. The landowner said: “Friend, I am not being unfair to you. Didn’t you agree to work for a denarius? Take your pay and go. I want to give the man who was hired last the same as I gave you. Don’t I have the right to do what I want with my own money? Or are you envious because I am generous?”
Two thoughts came to me after reading this. First, people who own their own businesses and employ people should have the right to pay what they want (no one is forced to work for them) and they should have the right to hire who they want for their business. Of course, this is directly against what Obama is trying to do with entrepreneurs in this country. Obama and his crew feel they should be able to determine what people are paid and who is hired for private businesses. Obama and his gang continue to push their agenda on private businesses in this country and even on our states and cities. Obama wants to take from those he considers rich and give to those he feels are worthy. He really feels he is all powerful and no one should dare cross him. I actually think Obama is worse than Pharaoh in the Bible because Obama is NOT king and is NOT ruler of our country. He is supposed to be leader of the Executive branch of our government and is not supposed to be controlling the other two branches and breaking the laws and Constitution of America.
The other thought I had on this New Testament reading related to what Jesus teaches compared to what Muhammad teaches. This parable is an example of how inclusive Christianity is, how even sinners who are sinners throughout life will be accepted at any point when they are willing to believe (example, the thief on the cross). Jesus shows that people who think they have done all the “right” things, jumped through all their religious hoops, and think they should have better standing than the average sinner are totally wrong. Christianity offers mercy, grace, and forgiveness to all. Not so with Islam. Sharia law, which is a big part of Islam, has very strict rules to follow and those who are outside of those rules deserve to die, according to the Koran. Those who don’t believe the tenants of Islam and Sharia law deserve to die according to their faith. Islam is the faith that Obama supports in his actions and his words.
In the day’s selection from Proverbs (Proverbs 6:6-11), there again was plenty to relate to what is happening today. “Go to the ant, you sluggard; consider its ways and be wise! It has no commander, no overseer or ruler, yet it stores its provisions in summer and gathers its food at harvest.” Entrepreneurs in this country work hard to meet their living expenses, to help their workers meet their expenses, and hope to have some reward from their business for all their hard work. Obama and his gang feel he should be able to take from the ant and give to the sluggard. One of his recent ideas was to tax the savings funds that people have to prepare for their children’s future college tuition and he feels illegals should have free college! Fortunately, as people heard about this, there was an outcry against it and he had to withdraw that edict! Very unusual for Obama to withdraw anything he considers so I’m hopeful that if enough of us pay attention and protest to Congress for his outrageous socialistic policies, we can begin to get our country back. It will be a long road as they have been so busy tearing America apart and Obama has added so many czars and government workers to carry out his policies, but we must fight for our country and protest actions implemented to destroy it.
“I predict future happiness for Americans, if they can prevent the government from wasting the labors of the people under the pretense of taking care of them.” ~ Thomas Jefferson
"O God, our help in ages past,
Our hope for years to come,
Still be our guard while troubles last
And our eternal home." ~ Watts
